Awning Windows

Vinyl awning windows are hung horizontally with hinges on the top, allowing them to open outward. Not to be confused with basement windows, which are hinged at the bottom and swing inward. Our awning replacement windows open easily and smoothly with a crank handle. You’ll also be able to easily lock your window with a single lever that locks the window at multiple critical points.

Replacement awning windows from Great Lakes Window provide some protection from the rain, even when wide open. Awning windows can be mixed with casement windows and picture windows to create dramatic sight lines and window combinations.

Features:

  • Sashes swing outward at the bottom to let fresh air in
  • Fusion welded frame ensure window stays strong, square and weather-tight
  • Single-lever multi-point locking mechanism with single locking handle for maximum security
  • Folding nested operator handles come standard
  • Insulated double- and triple-pane glass units can be configured for all climates
  • Variety of frame colors and grilles to accent your home’s style
  • Basement windows, sometimes referred to as hopper windows, are also available.

Grilles define style

Grilles define style

Grilles recreate the look of traditional windowpanes and come in a variety of patterns. Add a Perimeter Prairie pattern to your awning windows to complement Prairie or Arts and Crafts styling. Most Great Lakes windows are available with grilles-between-glass or simulated divided lites (on the outside of the glass).

Glass Options

A clear advantage.

Our replacement and new awning windows come with various insulated glass options. Double and triple pane units are available with Low-E coatings suitable for any climate. You can improve the thermal performance of your awning windows when you combine double-glazing with argon and Low-E. For ultimate performance in cold climates, consider upgrading to triple-glazed units with krypton and Low-E.

Sound Resistant

Keep outside noise out.

Great Lakes windows provide just as much insulation against heat loss as it does sound. We can configure our replacement awning windows with double- or triple-glazed glass that is thicker as well as laminated to help keep the noise outside where it belongs.
