Sliding Windows

Replacement sliding windows are horizontal with sashes that independently slide from side to side. Sometimes called a “gliding window,” vinyl sliding windows provide a contemporary look and are a popular option for areas of the home with more horizontal than vertical space. And, with our color choices and decorative grille options, you’ll find just the right fit for your style.

Features:

  • Sashes are removable for easy and safe cleaning

  • Interlocking sashes with weather-stripping and reinforcement overlap when closed to prevent air and water infiltration
  • Insulated double- and triple-pane glass units can be configured for all climates
  • Heavy-duty track and roller system for long life and easy gliding
  • Left and right pull rails for ease of operation

Grilles define style

Grilles define style.

Grilles recreate the look of traditional windowpanes and come in a variety of patterns. Add a Colonial pattern to your new sliding windows for a traditional look, or a Perimeter Prairie pattern to compliment Prairie or Arts and Crafts styling. Most Great Lakes windows are available with grilles-between-glass or simulated divided lites (on the outside of the glass).

Combo Lock

Built for maximum security.

Most of our sliding replacement windows come standard with a flush-mounted sash lock that secures sashes together at the meeting rail for a weathertight seal and unobstructed view. One or two locks are included depending on the window size, creating a tight seal at the interlock to prevent air infiltration, provide additional security, as well as offer peace of mind. And when the windows are open, use the ventilation limit latches for added security.

Hardware Options

Sound Resistant

Keep outside noise out.

Great Lakes Window provides just as much insulation against heat loss as it does sound. We can configure our replacement sliding windows with double- or triple-glazed glass that is thicker as well as laminated to help keep the noise outside where it belongs.
